UPDATE: After a decade-plus in Chicago we’ve moved back to the DC area (Silver Spring MD) in early 2021, I am no longer in real estate, and even though 2020 was…um weird…it was pretty good for us as we welcomed our son into the world! While in Chicago we started a sausage catering business and were active in a few of the city’s farmers markets. Eventually we’ll be getting something back up and running here but until then I’ll be watching the boy and doing a bit of writing…which is how it all started.
‘m currently a real estate agent living in Chicago who was born and raised in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. From there I went to Washington DC where I stayed long enough to meet my wonderful wife (she’s originally from Cleveland). She went to business school and subsequently landed a job in Chicago so here we are! Growing up I was lucky to have three wonderful women influence me in the kitchen, my grandmother, my mother, and my step-mother. All cooked great tasting food and when I started living on my own I decided I could either maintain my svelte figure by eating fast food and pizza or by cooking for myself. I opted for the latter and from that have developed a passion for learning how to cook well which continues today.
Other than our shared passion for delicious food my wife and I love to travel together, play and watch sports (especially soccer), and read voraciously. I give her lots of credit for increasing my appreciation of James Bond and introducing me to whisky (that’s whisky without the “e,” you know what I’m talking about). We both think Chicago is a great city and are having loads of fun discovering everything about it, even the non food stuff like the architecture and nightlife.
